Daily Intake: The most common dosage of the whole leaves for adults is 300 mg taken 3 times a day with meals. Avoid doses over 1,800 mg daily, as higher doses don’t significantly enhance its effects and may increase side effects and drug interactions. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Studies show that it’s as effective as prescription antidepressants (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) for mild to moderate depression.
